In 2019, while enrolling my son in taekwondo, I became interested in self defense. I decided to join him in training. While training 3 days a week and paying monthly fees I thought about how many people could not afford or allow the time commitment to join a martial art. There had to be a way for people to defend themselves without this luxury. I thought about what everyday people would need to keep with them in case they were attacked. This was a dream of mine that I thought about often.
In the beginning of 2020, the whole world changed with Covid19. There were over 30 million people out of work. There were riots or protests on the streets of most major cities, and crime was increasing in nearly every city. This prompted me turn my dream into reality.
Dark Alley Defense was born out of a necessity for people to defend themselves.
